QI
"Qi" is one of those words like "love" that is impossible to define. In fact, some people say that qi IS love. More often it is defined as "life energy" or "the essence and origin of life."
Sometimes poetry can describe things best. Here's a line from a Dylan Thomas poem that I've heard used to describe qi:
The force
that through the green fuse
drives the flower
Qi gong is about working with qi in the body -- building it and helping it to flow smoothly. There are many kinds of qi gong exercises. I am especially interested in the ones designed to strengthen the organ systems of the body because I believe healthy organs are vital to physical, emotional and spiritual health.
I study qi gong and practice it daily because I enjoy it, it is good for my health, and I find it makes me more sensitive and more powerful in my massage work.
I sometimes teach qi gong exercises to clients who want healing tools they can use on their own.
